Elad Zvi
Elad Zvi’s experience in the food & beverage industry, as well as his nomination for the James Beard award in 2007, has built him a flourishing following in both New York and Miami. Elad is born in Israel and has lived and trained in the U.S for over 10 years. His passion for the beverage industry, more precisely for creating beautiful, balanced cocktails, has inspired him to co-found Bar lab, where he has created eccentric cocktails to be enjoyed by themselves or paired with any type of cuisine. His avant-garde approach, using fresh ingredients, exotic herbs, spices, infusions and an array of delicacies, will awaken your senses. Elad Zvi has created cocktails menus for Devito's South Beach, Social Miami, O Asian Grill, Domo Japones, and The Gansevoort Hotel South Beach. Currently Elad is hanging his hat at the the acclaimed W Hotel South Beach where he’s been on board since the development of the Living Room. Elad and his partner in Bar Lad Gabriel Orta, conceptualized the vision of the Living Room beverage program and brought it to life with a unique menu offering something special to South Beach. He’s been featured countless publications such as the New York Times, the Miami Herald and a featured recipe in the 2008 Food & Wine Special Cocktail Edition. He has recently participated in the 2009/2010 Food & Wine 212 House in Miami Beach & Aspen, creating exclusive recipes for the international top chefs. Gabriel Orta
Gabriel Orta has been working in the food & beverage industry for over 12 years. His roots in the kitchen allow him a valuable insight into the Bar Chef world. Constantly drawing inspiration from the culinary world around him Orta translates the combinations of flavors he encounters on the plate into perfection in a glass. His dedication as a chef and as a mixologist led him to co-found Bar-Lab. Gabriel's South American influence gives his work an exotic and unique flavors. His knowledge of gastronomy has inspired him to work with ingredients in his cocktails. His adaptation of some of the most classic cocktails into new and exciting concoctions takes you pleasantly by surprise. Working with Elad Zvi, his partner in Bar Lab, Gabe co-created and executed the cocktail program at the W South Beach’s Living Room one of the hottest spots on the beach. Most recently Gabe was awarded first place in Cabana Fresca’s National Mixology Challenge cachaça competition held in Brazil, which he competed against 15 mixologists from all around the globe. Currently representing the Diageo Label in the Latin American and the Caribbean markets it’s sometimes hard to keep track of Gabe. Luckily when he’s home in Miami you can find him working at the Florida Room mixing unique libations crafted with precision.
